EUROWEEK 2021
Last week me and a few other people from our School went for a trip to Różanka for Euroweek. The excursion lasted five days from the 30th of November to the 4th of December.
On the first day we didn't do much. We had to travel from Gliwice to Różanka by train. When we finally arrived we accomodated in a cosy room and met the volunteers that would teach us. They introduced themselves and then we split into groups so that we could ask them questions and get to know eachother. Some of the volunteers changed everyday. That day we also met the other participants of Euroweek. There were people from Świętochłowice who were honestly annoying and from Gdańsk that were fairly nice.
The second day was full of dancing but firstly we had a presentation about the country of Tanzania. Afterwards we played a team-building game called cassanova. Then it was time for the dancing and it was painfully awkward at first because I had to dance with a guy that I didn't even know. In the end it wasn't horrible but also it wasn't that much fun for me. The next activity was really entertaining though. We basically had to recreate some tv shows and films with a happy ending or in a funny way. Working with everybody was really nice.
On the third day we met my absolute favourite volunteer called Rodrigo from Mexico. He has to be one of the most amazing people I'd ever met. He taught us about the culture of Mexico and also some of the social issues hapenning there. We had to make posters about those issues with solutions that could help solving them. Many of these issues also occur in Poland so that kind of helped with finding solutions. That day we also had many team-building games and our second show. This time it had to be about Polish sterotypes, culture and history. I had a lot of fun during it because I could dance one of my favourite Polish dances which are polonez and krakowiak.
The fourth day was definitely my favourite. Everybody was already comfortable with each other and the atmosphere was great. We started the day of with a quick energizer and then we met another volunteer this time from Spain. He was really funny and made a really great duo with Rodrigo. That days country presentation was about Spain. We also were suposed to go for a walk to the mountains but it didn't work out so we just went to the shop instead. That nights show was about how dance evolved throughout generations. My group choose to present the dances od 1980's. At first we had some trouble but it turned out pretty good. After that we got a really heart-warming goodbye from Rodrigo and we also got our certificate for attending Euroweek.
On the last day we ate breakfast and then packed our bags and left the hotel. Later we had a quick unexpected trip to Bystrzyca Kłodzka. I have to say I have never seen a city quite like this. The architecture was really intresting.
Overall I personally think that the trip was amazing. I don't remember the last time I had this much fun. Hopefully I'll have a chance to go next year.
